After 14-years working on Seltzertopia, it’s now out of my hands. The final text has been sent to the printer. Until it comes back (it comes out in October) and I start giving public presentations, I’ve found my creativity bug itching to keep being creative with seltzer-themed material.
If you’ve been following me on Facebook, you’ve seen I played with t-shirt designs for a few weeks – and I look forward to returning to that space next month.
But recently I discovered a whole other product to explore: jigsaw puzzles. I discovered Nervous System, “a generative design studio that works at the intersection of science, art, and technology.” They have an amazing tool for designing your own puzzles. I have NEVER seen jigsaw puzzles like these before. They blew me away.
I made one in the shape of a siphon head image I adore. It took me about an hour to put it together – not because I was stop-motion capturing it but because the design of the pieces boggle my mind. I can’t see how any of them connect and then, once they do, I can’t see how they were ever apart. So check out the video and let me know what you think, not just about the puzzle but whether I should put my energy into merchandising Seltzertopia-related products (does that distract from the integrity of the book itself?).
