So, yeah. All of my upcoming SeltzertopiaLive! events have been cancelled. Well, let’s not say cancelled. To use the word of the day from my amazing governor, they have been put on pause. (Don’t worry, Melville, Long Island! I’ll be back when you’re ready…)
However, sometimes constraints become opportunities. Just a few days into NYC’s shutdown, I received a call from Corey William Schneider, CEO & Founder of the New York Adventure Club. They create wonderfully original walking tours in New York City, such as of the Gomberg Seltzer Works, in Canarsie, NY (that’s Brooklyn, for the out-of-towners), which is how I got connected with Corey.
When my book first came out, we had conversations about how to wrap Seltzertopia into one of his tours, but it never came together. But with non-essential businesses closed up (can’t give tours) and his audiences all locked at home (can’t go on tours) he pivoted his business online.
So I am excited to announce that on April 15, from 5:30 – 7:00, I will present my first live, online version of SeltzertopiaLive! I live online so I am excited to bring these two parts of my world together. I am also excited as it means I can reach so many people who have not been able to attend my seltzer extravaganza in person.
Corey has also arrange with Alex Gomberg of the Brooklyn Seltzer Boys to ship a full egg cream kit to attendees (as an optional add-on) – complete with seltzer siphon, ubets chocolate syrup and more – so at the end of my talk I will gather us in a collective egg cream mixing fest! It should be a blast and I hope you can join us.
