I recently landed in D.C. at Reagan Airport and grabbed a car to the JCC of Northern Virginia for the next stop on my Seltzertopia Live! tour. Before my GPS could tell me I’d arrive I looked up and found the evidence literally staring right into my face!
That was pretty cool, seeing a digital billboard promoting the event and my book. And it made me laugh thinking about how many people over the past few weeks much have driven past my smiling face on their way to work.
Since I was in Northern Virginia, I began the event by drawing parallels to their community and my own. Just a week earlier it was all over the news: we were each going to split the new headquarters for Amazon. “Our communities have something in common,” I told them. “Together we are going to co-parent the Amazon twins.”
As people arrived, they were greeted by Michelle, now a local resident but a transplant from the Bronx. She prepared her milk and chocolate concoctions in advance and custom made each egg cream to order. What a great way to start the night! And how organized, to boot.
